Hot Foil Printing

Hot foil stamping is a dry printing method in which foils are transferred onto a surface at high temperatures. Hot foil printing is used widely on plastic and paper and is an applicable, popular technique of security.

In a hot foil printing machine, a die is mounted and heated, with the product to be stamped placed beneath it. A metalised or painted roll-leaf carrier is inserted between the two, while the die presses down through it. The foil used is then impressed onto the surface of the product. Dies may be made of metal or silicone rubber, which are either directly shaped or cast. They can carry high levels of detail to be transferred, and may be shaped to accommodate any irregularities.

Hot foil printing is available in metals such as gold, silver, and bronze and copper as well as coloured print. RTP Manual Handling have skilled technicians who are able to print according to your specifications and products.

Laser printing is also a service provided by RTP Manual Handling. Laser printing has the benefit of being able to use multiple colours.
