Uses of Plastic Welding
Plastic welding can be used to insert fixed dividers & containers to separate containers, keeping them tighter & more secure. This is also a cost effective method and is a life long bond is attained by using heat & a plastic rod to fix the dividers to the inner walls of the box. Plastic is also lightweight, easy to clean & will not rust like metal, making it an ideal solution indoors & outdoors. See some of the uses below.
Machined Plastics Welded Together
Machined plastics can provide a lightweight solution when welded together, making the manual handling of large items like the harness arc easily manoeveured. A components profiles can be followed, giving a structure that completely supports & protects the component.
Using the correct plastic & materials, pallets can be cut & shut together to make extended pallets without compromising the strength. These are a bespoke option for large items that require protection or no metal to metal contact, in clean rooms & for large tooling – making them an efficient & safe way rapid tool changes.
Location rims, location pins & label holders can also be added completely designed around your product for total optimisation & giving extra security.
Cut & Shut
Where a non-standard sized box, pallet or pallet box is required, donor boxes or pallets are cut and then re-welded to the required size. The benefits of this are that you won’t have excess space in a box when transporting – keeping the footprint lower & offering the product a more tight & secure fit. With a pallet, you may have a component or tool that overhangs a standard sized pallet making this a better health & safety option while also making it easier to transport around.
With the correct welding & added braces, we can the product as strong, or indeed stronger than the original donor box or pallet.
Plastic welding is a cost effective way customising things, such as water tanks, given its ability to make a secure & water tight bond and being able to bond plastic together of any shape & size required. It can also be used to repair water tanks & silos where the cost of replacing is expensive.
The most common plastics we weld are PP (polypropylene), PE (Polyethylene), HDPE (high density polyethelene), LDPE (low density polyethylene), ABS (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) & PVC (polyvinyl chloride). Although this list is extensive, other materials can be welded.
